HOME > HSE cracks down hard on Construction Dust
This year the HSE ‘Work Right’ campaign is prioritising construction workers health, and during October Spot Check inspections will focus on construction dust on building sites. Sites of all types and sizes, from domestic refurbishments to major commercial new builds will be visited to check that appropriate measures are in place to protect workers’ lung health from harmful exposure to dust.
HSE inspectors will look at the way work is designed and planned, and the measures in place to protect workers lungs - from construction dust including silica, asbestos and wood dust. This is part of HSE’s longer term health and work strategy to improve health within the construction industry.
