Legionella Risk Assessments

Our Legionella risk assessments are carried out to the requirements of BS 8580 by qualified, competent and experienced staff and include:

  1. An inspection and assessment of the configuration, construction and condition of all appropriate water systems - these will include domestic hot and cold-water systems as well as commercial and industrial systems if present.
  2. A review of the occupancy, usage and potential for exposure within the site.
  3. Assessment of the potential for Legionella to enter the water systems, its proliferation risk and the potential for aerosol generation as well as the susceptibility of the population at the site.
  4. A review of the current duties and responsibilities of those involved in the supply of water systems and any additional training or management requirements.
  5. Specific recommendations regarding any remedial actions required to the water system.
  6. Recommendations for the on-going safe management, monitoring and maintenance of the water systems.
  7. Temperature checks on sentinel & other outlets and any stored water assets.
  8. Photographs of all assets and full schematic drawings if required.
  9. A review meeting to explain our findings in the report.

HSE ACoP L8 guidance recommends that Legionella risk assessments should be reviewed regularly.
