Apprenticeship Training Courses

AEC's 'Safe Start' courses are aimed at preparing young engineering apprentices and T-Level learners who are taking their first steps into the workplace. The health and safety courses have been written specifically for 16-24 year olds and include modules that are contextualised to suit a range of engineering occupations.

The tailored 'hybrid' courses ensure that new- starters are confident to spot workplace health and safety risks and know the safest actions to take.

AEC's courses are approved by EAL, the UK's leading awarding body for engineering and manufacturing qualifications. Designed to allow the learner to choose modules from their choice of pathway, relevant to the sector in which they work the courses are suitable for most engineering apprentices.

These courses will support the 'Core Knowledge' element of an apprenticeship standard: "Understand relevant industry health and safety standards, regulations, environmental and regulatory requirements".

This is a mandatory element found in most engineering apprenticeship standards.
